Singapore - 2007

Touching down in Singapore for the second time this year, K-Spray flies in Sixten (SWE) and Methamphibian (USA) to present their installations to the gathered crowd at the MTV Asia year end bash. The talent of these two artists resides on their contrastingly dark styles, both masterpieces formed through various art techniques. With the backgrounds hued in gold, army green, black, and blood red then drenched with turpentine, Sixten meticulously arranged his stencils, spraying on a white layer depicting a rabbit. His mastery exceeds the stenciling with the detailed etching of the creature, topped off with a vivid blue tongue and the continuation of more blood red paint splatters to perfect "Silly Wabbit, Trix are for Kids."

In his first live art installation in over a decade, Methamphibian offered a rare view onto the detailed craft elements of the designer that has ignited a revolutionary realm where sneakers are the canvas. Methamphibian had carefully selected the color scheme, his layers coming via the alternation of a shock-green backing weaved with his hand screen printed work of a female visage. The calculated arrangement began with the initial black paint strokes bled on the shock green background, the construction of the screen print image, torn, rearranged, affixed, perfected, formed in a deconstructive manner to the striking final piece with the nonchalant stare of the woman ripping through past the gazer.

K-Spray remains dedicated to showcasing the work of artists and is honored to be able to host these two artists!
